Photo Design

Tomorrow I have the day to myself! I am so looking forward to it. I meet with my trainer super early then after that... NOTHING. So I want to start working on my upcoming posts and giveaways, etc. Yes, that is what I love to do with my free time. It makes me super excited. It's nice to have a hobby that I can really get into again, especially with having a kid.

I am finding it hard to stick to just one or two main topics on this blog. It follows our life and now I am leaning towards organizational/family style blog... yet still going green. I am really big on that this summer. But I also want to do sales that I would love to share with my readers. I had a coupon blog last summer but with a one year old it was too crazy, so I think I am going back and doing two blogs now. One with our chaotic lifestyle and then one all about savings. Opinions?

While I am working on them tomorrow, I really want to do some blog design work. HOWEVER, I am clueless! What are some of the photo softwares that you other bloggers use? Or even my photography friends? I had looked into paying to have it done, but I am super anxious and don't think I could wait a few weeks... awful I know.

Xoxo, Cantrells

  1. I was designing all my blog layouts with Adobe Illustrator. It's my favorite program in the whole wide world. However at the moment, I'm using just one of blogger's templates but hands down for me is Illustrator

  2. I use Photoshop and Illustrator for my designs. Photoshop is definitely easier to navigate, think of Windows Paint on crack. :) Illustrator can be tricky when you are dealing with creating shapes and what-not. If you have the money, I'd suggest taking a look at the different packages Adobe offers:

You might also consider buying the Design & Web Premium package. You've got a great thing going on with this blog and may want to design your own webpage/blog that way you're not limited to what Blogger offers you.

One final thing: I'm taking an Adobe Dreamweaver course in Atlanta next month for my job (web design), I'll let you know how it goes. Taking courses and buying software may be more expensive as a start-up, but it beats paying someone to do it over time!

Sorry for the ridiculously long response. :) Good luck!

  5. I would add to the previous responses that Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are amazing and definitely the top 2 programs that I use out of the creative suite. However anadditional program is Adobe Lightroom. I can quickly edit my photos, crop them, watemark them and organize them all in one program. Also know that for any of the adobe programs you can download a version for 30 days to try for free. Anyway, good luck! Gina @ mychocolatepeaces.com

Kozy Shack Indulgent Pudding Giveaway

I am so excited to do my first giveaway since coming back to blogging. I had the opportunity to get a free pack of KozyShack Indulgent Pudding from BzzAgent. I had heard of KozyShack before but I had never tried them. They recently came out with a new line called "Indulgent Recipe". I generally like pudding so figured I would give it  try. When I got to Target I noticed they had chocolate, vanilla and salted caramel. I am a huge sucker for fall flavors so of course I went with the salted caramel. Speaking of, have you tried the new Greek yogurt that is salted caramel flavor? Its to die for! Love it! I enjoyed that one so much so I got the same flavor in pudding. Look how yummy it looks. When I got home I quickly tried it. I mean it looked so good, I just didn't want to wait. My first thought when opening the package was the pudding looks thick. Surely there was an air bubble in there right? Nope. Just really thick pudding. Right then I knew I wouldn't be a frequ

Giveaway: Ruffles with Love

I had an opportunity to interview Vanessa Hodge with Ruffles With Love. Love her shirts. If you haven't checked her Etsy store out, you should do so! 1. How did you come up with Ruffles with Love? The actual name Ruffles with Love my fiance came up with when we were brainstorming names one night! I love ruffles and anything girly so he just ran with it and thats how we got the name! The actual idea to do workout shirts came from me needing to be getting in shape for my November wedding and needing cute shirts to motivate me! I absolutely LOVE bows and could never find anything with bows to go running in, I am to old to wear them in my hair so I had to incorporate them somewhere :) 2. How long have you been in business? I have been in business since January of this year. 3. Which shirt is your favorite? I have a couple lol, Break a Sweat is my number 1 favorite and Sweating for the Dress 4. Why? Break a Sweat was the first shirt I ever made and sold so it will always be m
